September 12 Devotional Meditation
By Dr. Patrick Elijah Anyomi
Key Text:
Psalm 34:10 (NIV):“The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.”
Devotional Meditation
Even the strongest and most skilled of creatures—the lions—experience lack. They grow weak and hungry despite their power and self-sufficiency. But this verse draws a striking contrast: those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
This isn’t a promise of endless wealth or a life free from want in a worldly sense. Rather, it is a deeper assurance that when we make God our pursuit—when we seek Him—He becomes our ultimate provision. The word “seek” (Hebrew: darash) implies a deliberate, persistent turning to God—not just occasionally, but as the focus of our desire and trust.
God is not merely a provider of things; He is the source of every good thing (James 1:17). When we seek Him, we align our hearts with His will, and He faithfully supplies what we truly need: peace, wisdom, strength, purpose, and sometimes even physical provision—in His perfect timing and way.
We may not have everything we want, but we will lack nothing we need to fulfill His purpose for our lives. His presence is the greatest good.
Time of Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Your Word says that those who seek You will lack no good thing. Forgive me for the times I have sought solutions, security, or satisfaction anywhere else. Today, I choose to seek You—Your presence, Your will, Your heart.
I thank You that You are my provider. I trust that as I draw near to You, You will meet my needs according to Your riches in glory. Help me to recognize the good things You give—not just material blessings, but spiritual strength, joy, peace, and purpose.
When I feel weak or in need, remind me that You are enough. I rest in Your promise today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
