Key Text:Genesis 15:1-6 “After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.” But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?” And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.” Then the word of the Lord came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.” He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.- Genesis 15:1-6 NIV
No matter how impossible your situation seems, God's promise is greater than your backup plan. It's time to dismiss the "Eliezer" option and believe God for the miraculous birth of your inheritance.
Introduction:
Beloved, look at your neighbor and declare: 'It's my time!' Now, tell them: 'Eliezer is fired!' All over this room, people have a promise from God. You can see it, you can feel it in your spirit, but when you look at your natural circumstances, it looks DEAD. It looks impossible. You’ve even come up with a ‘Plan B’—a logical, reasonable, sensible backup plan if God doesn’t come through. But tonight, the Spirit of God is here to confront your Plan B! God is issuing a divine eviction notice to every ‘Eliezer’ in your life! Your situation is not too dead for God! Your financial valley is not too deep for God! Your broken body is not too far gone for God! Your family situation is not too fractured for God! Get ready! We’re about to release our faith and declare with Abraham: 'ELIEZER OF DAMASCUS WILL NOT INHERIT MY ESTATE!'"
Point 1: The Crisis of a Dead Promise (The Reality of the Impossible)
Genesis 15:1-3 (Abram laments his childlessness)
“After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.” But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?” And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.”- Genesis 15:1-3 NIV
Illustration: Abraham was staring at a dead-end situation. He was old. Sarah was old. Her womb was not just barren; it was biologically retired! Every natural sign said "NO." He had wealth, servants, and a great name, but no heir. His greatest fear was that his entire life's work would fall to his chief servant, Eliezer—a good man, but not the son of promise.
This is where miracles are born!—— Miracles don't start in the realm of the possible; — they start in the funeral of the impossible!
Biblical Example: The widow with the jar of oil (2 Kings 4:1-7).
“The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.” Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.” Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.” She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.” But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing. She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.”— 2 Kings 4:1-7 NIV
She was down to her last meal. Creditors were at the door. Her sons were about to be taken as slaves. Her situation wasn't just difficult; it was a dead end. She was at her "Eliezer" moment—slavery was the logical, reasonable outcome.
Declaration: What is the "dead" thing in your life? The dream that seems expired? The diagnosis the doctors can't reverse? The financial hole you can't climb out of? God allows us to get to this place not to punish us, but to show us that HE is the God of the impossible! Your crisis is the platform for His miracle!
Point 2: The Confrontation of a Divine Promise (God Interrupts Your Plan B)
Scripture: Genesis 15:4-5 “Then the word of the Lord came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.” He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” - Genesis 15:4-5 NIV
Illustration: God interrupts Abraham's pity party and his logical solution. He says, "Your Plan B, your fallback guy, your Eliezer—HE WILL NOT INHERIT WHAT I HAVE FOR YOU!" God didn't just promise a son; He promised a NATION. He didn't ask Abraham to look at his own dead body (the problem); He told him to look up at the infinite stars (the promise)!
God's promise is always bigger than your logic! Your Eliezer is a symbol of your best human reasoning. God says, "I'm not in the business of blessing your best ideas; I'm in the business of performing the impossible!"
Biblical Example: The Valley of Dry Bones (Ezekiel 37). God didn't ask Ezekiel to conduct a survey to see if resurrection was feasible. He asked, "Can these bones live?" He then commanded Ezekiel to prophesy to the dead, dry, hopeless situation. The miracle began when God's word confronted the reality of death.
Prophetic Declaration: God is speaking to someone tonight: "Stop looking at your bank account; look at my promises! Stop looking at the medical report; look at my report which says 'By His stripes you are healed!' (Isaiah 53:5). It's time to confront your 'Eliezer' with the word of the Lord!"
Point 3: The Catalyst of a Believing Heart (The Response of Faith)
Scripture: Genesis 15:6 ("Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.")
Illustration: Abraham had a choice: believe his body or believe his God. He chose God. The Hebrew word for "believed" (*'āman*) means to be firm, to be steadfast, to consider something reliable and true. He staked his entire future on the reliability of God's word, not the reliability of his circumstances. THAT is the faith that activates the miraculous! Romans 4:11
Faith is the currency of heaven. It's how we withdraw what grace has already deposited! God credited his belief as righteousness—not because he was perfect, but because he was perfectly trusting.
* **Biblical Example:** **The Woman with the Issue of Blood (Matthew 9:20-22). For 12 years, doctors were her "Eliezer." They had no solution. She had a dead-end situation. But she heard about Jesus. Her faith said, "If I can just touch the hem of his garment..." Her faith was the catalyst that pulled miracle-working power from Jesus!
Prophetic Declaration: Your faith is the switch that turns on the power of God! Right now, in this conference, release your faith! Believe that God is not a man that He should lie! (Numbers 23:19). Believe that what He promised, He is able to perform! (Romans 4:21). Your faith is about to make a withdrawal from the heavenly account!
Point 4: The Confirmation of a Miraculous Birth (The Promise Manifested)
Scripture: Genesis 21:1-3 ("Now the LORD was gracious to Sarah... and she became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age.")
Illustration: It took time, but God's promise didn't expire. It was fulfilled at the appointed time. Isaac, the child of promise, was born. The name "Isaac" means laughter. Your miracle will turn your mourning into laughter! Your breakthrough will become a testimony that will make others laugh with joy at the goodness of God! Eliezer was officially and permanently dismissed from the inheritance!
The birth of Isaac was a sovereign act of God. It was not the result of human effort or planning. It was a pure, undeniable miracle.
Prophetic Declaration: I prophesy over your dead situation: COME FORTH! I call forth your Isaac! I call forth your miracle baby! I call forth your business, your healing, your restored marriage, your prodigal child! The season of waiting is over! The time for birthing has come! Eliezer is dismissed! Your inheritance is secure!
Conclusion and Altar Call:
"Tonight, God is asking you to identify your 'Eliezer.' Who or what is your backup plan if God doesn't come through? Is it a loan shark? Is it a compromise? Is it a spirit of fear and doubt?
It's time to fire Eliezer! It's time to break agreement with the spirit of impossibility!
I want you to stand to your feet right now. I want you to lift your hands to heaven, the source of every good and perfect gift. I want you to open your hands as a sign of releasing your logic and receiving God's promise.
Now, with a voice of faith, with a voice of declaration, let’s decree together:
PRAYER: MY FATHER …'ELIEZER OF DAMASCUS WILL NOT INHERIT MY ESTATE! MY MIRACLE IS COMING! MY ISAAC IS ON THE WAY! I RECEIVE MY BREAKTHROUGH NOW, IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS!'
