The Solemn Assembly Begins Today: The Daniel Fast

November 1 Devotional Meditation

"At that time I, Daniel, mourned for three weeks. I ate no choice food; no meat or wine touched my lips; and I used no lotions at all until the three weeks were over." — Daniel 10:2-3 NIV

Devotional Meditation:

Hear the sound of the trumpet, people of God! The Lord is summoning us to a sacred season of consecration—a forty-day solemn assembly where we will seek the face of our King through prayer and fasting! This is not merely a dietary change—this is a spiritual warfare strategy that unlocks supernatural revelation and divine intervention!

The Daniel Fast is a biblical partial fast modeled after the prophet Daniel's spiritual discipline. For these forty days, we will follow Daniel's example by:

· Abstaining from choice foods (delicacies and sweets) We shall not be eating sugar except in fruits and natural fruit juice and honey. 

· We will Drink fruit juice which will decrease your hunger pangs and give you some natural sugar energy. 

· We will Avoid caffeinated drinks and sodas(Minerals)

.· Eliminating meat and animal protein products(Except Eggs)

· Stay away from wine and alcoholic beverages

· Setting aside personal luxuries and comforts 

· While on the Daniel fast, We are fasting our breakfast and lunch and breaking the fast at 6:00pm daily for 40 days to eat  a vegetable rich dinner. (And avoid chewing gum or mints during this period , even if your breath is bad. They stimulate digestive action while there is no food in your stomach!) Drink (Sip) lots of water; some three to four liters daily if you can!

But understand this clearly: Fasting is a NATURAL discipline that brings SUPERNATURAL results! Throughout Scripture, when God's people fasted—Moses on Sinai, Esther before the king, Elijah in the wilderness, Jesus in the Jordan—heaven responded with unprecedented power! Fasting humbles our flesh to elevate our spirit! It silences our natural appetites to amplify our spiritual sensitivity! It positions us to receive what prayer alone cannot accomplish!

When Daniel fasted for twenty-one days, an angel appeared declaring: "Your words were heard from the first day!"  Your breakthrough begins THE MOMENT you set your heart to seek God! As we deny our physical bodies, we are feeding our spirits and creating capacity for divine encounters, angelic visitations, and miraculous interventions!

Prayer of Consecration:

Heavenly Father! We present our bodies as living sacrifices during this solemn assembly!

· We consecrate ourselves to You through the Daniel Fast

· We set aside natural pleasures to pursue spiritual power

· We humble our flesh to hunger for Your presence

· We break every chain of appetite and addiction

· We position ourselves for divine revelation and supernatural visitation

Holy Spirit! Empower us to complete this fast! Reveal the deep things of God to us! Let heaven open over our lives as we seek Your face! Send angels to minister to us! Release breakthroughs that only fasting can unlock!

Declaration of Commitment:

"I am answering the call to solemn assembly! I commit to the Daniel Fast for forty days! I set aside natural food to feast on spiritual manna! My physical denial will produce spiritual power! I expect divine encounters, supernatural breakthroughs, and miraculous interventions! This fast will change me, my family, and my destiny!"
